Please pray that God will provide us a way to become debt free and that the health situations in our family will be healed. Pray that my husband’s new business will grow and plant God’s seeds while being able to take care of our debt. Pray that God will guide me to a new job where he would have me be. Bless you all, W

Thank you for your prayers… I am asking for prayer for a job that will both benefit our financial needs and be a godly fit for me. I have been a home schooling mom for the past 18 years with our last child graduating this past May. I have worked part time through out the years but nothing with specific career goals. Though I am more than happy to work “anywhere”, I would really like the LORD to give me a specific position that will be a place to grow and advance and will utilize the gifts the LORD has blessed me with. I appreciate your faithfulness to pray. In His Grace, Trina

Prayer Request for Bob and Kim … that our lives would be re-oriented to the Lord so our lives will count. We believe if we “seek first the kingdom” then all this other “stuff” (finances) will take care of itself. Please pray that we have strength, courage, and unity. Thank you

“I feel I am in a constant financial roller coaster. Sometimes enjoying the “good life” some others (quite often) struggling to make ends meet. In constant stress because my income does not match my and my sons needs. How do I end this cycle? Please pray so I can find solution to this dilemma. Yours very truly, Carmen XXXXX”

Hi Bob,
Thanks for your response to my question yesterday. I know you are right about the emergency fund. And that it is helpful to be able to give some priority to my health needs as well.
I promise I will not bombard you with updates, but I thought I would let you know that I believe xxxx has responded very well to your urgings in regard to our spiritual health being the priority over all. He has joined me for my morning devotions now both mornings. I know that is just a couple of days, but he has done that before and I have always sensed a disconnect with an attitude of “I am just doing this to please you”. It never lasted before. At the end of today’s devotional time he lead us in prayer and it was clearly a meaningful prayer. I have heard him pray before when the words just seemed to be meaningless, kind of like the “Wah, wah, wah” from the Peanuts cartoon. Today’s prayer was clearly heartfelt and it really touched my heart.
And although I know on the financial end of things we have a long way to go with a lot of bridges to cross I feel more hopeful now than I have in a long time.
At the beginning of the year as I prayed about our situation God gave me a work, just one word. The word was HOPE! I felt He was saying this is your year of hope, put your hope in me and watch me work. There have been some times that it was very hard to believe in the idea of that hope, but now I am seeing Him do what He said He would do!
Thanks for your part!!
With Hope,
xxx

Carolyn,

I can’t express what a blessing you have been to me. Looking back to the day I first sent in my application to Christian Financial Ministries, it felt as if I were facing a mountain. Many times, I had to email you and ask for extra time! And you were always there encouraging and being helpful. Thank you from the bottom of my heart! May the Lord bless you, all the people at Christian Financial Ministries, and all the clients who are working with you to get free of the monster of debt and learn how to do better.

To update you on other progress, in January, I refinanced my house to a lower rate for 15 years and had enough extra from that to pay almost all of the balance on the one credit card that I took out of the program. The credit card is now down to a much more manageable size. My mortgage was going to adjust in 2011 to a higher rate, so I was not sure what I was going to do about that. I was panicking, but the bank called me! All I had to do was let this all play out with little or no effort on my part, and I had a new fixed low-rate mortgage for half the length of time, and I’m only paying around $160 more a month. My other mortgage was for 30 years! So the Lord has been blessing me with solutions. As soon as my children get more settled into their lives, I believe I actually will start accumulating rather than expending.

My writing possibilities online have also expanded considerably in the past two months, and I may be earning some extra money doing that. Maybe someday I WILL write the definitive bestseller in some subject! Time will tell.

Again, thank you!

Best regards,

“I have much to be thankful for. My 24 year old son had open heart surgery last fall and he was only hours away from dying by the time we got him to the hospital. What was supposed to have been a 30-45 minute surgery, turned into 1 1/2 hours. I was in the waiting room praying and repeating “God does miracles.” During the surgery the doctors thought that there was something wrong with the monitors and they thought he was gone except he was still breathing. He came out of it and was okay. The doctors told me about the incident and were scratching their heads in amazement. I told him that he had many people praying for him including the church, family and friends. I “Praise God” for that miracle, and many other miracles I have witnessed! He has brought me through, held my hand and helped me keep my sanity through what would seem unbearable circumstances for many people.

“Thank God for the opportunity to serve Him in one of our provincial evangelistic crusade. Thank God for the strength, protection and financial provision…and most of all for the soul that was reached out.”

“S.” in GA – This goes hand-in-hand with a prayer request, but praise for our contract to purchase land being accepted so that we might have a more secure retirement. God’s hand was undoubtedly involved as this was a very tenuous situation that is currently providing a wonderful solution for both sides. This praise report is submitted with so much gratitude!
